What’s on the other side of that mountain, lake or ocean?
It must be our curiosity. Or we just have a problem staying still and sitting in one place.
Is it part restlessness? What is it that makes us want to grow up, leave home and conquer the world?
Could it be more knowledge? Would it kill us not knowing what ‘lies beyond?’
Yes, probably!
It’s good to know more, and you can’t always find it all in one place. It wasn’t long ago that most people never went more than about 25 miles away from their place of birth.
Then we got horsepower, trains, airplanes and automobiles. That changed everything for good.
Now if you had the money you could go, or get someone to take you just about anywhere, like Mount Everest!
This opened up our view of new worlds, people, cultures and scenic lands and vistas previously not well known to us.
Through world wars, revolutions and regimes, we have learned the world is both a big and small place at the same time.
It’s good we are now more aware of others and other places. We now know, it is one world, we should not act like we are alone.
We shouldn’t expect to get all our knowledge in one place, it would create a somewhat insular and one-sided view of reality today. Our goals should be to seek and share our own knowledge and then share and compare with others. This is how we all create better thoughts, attitudes and relationships to understand how we are all from different places, but we are all going in one direction.
Our place on ‘space ship earth’ is fragile and must be cared for by everyone. We can’t have one or two nations polluting and emitting toxins into the air and water. We now know we all share this earth, air, water and world attitudes to kill or create better living for all.
Most of us want to get out there and explore the world, not really be conquerors!
Our journey in life and around the world become the life experience (see Having a Great Day, Everyday!) we want to build into our life legacy. We all get to write our own life story, travel and adventure are now things everyone can enjoy, not just the well-to-do.
To some people, life is a world traveller ‘passport stamp collection game.’ How many notches are in your gun-belt of world travel?
Travel is now a big world business with deep roots and history.
To Guide and be a ‘local’ is a good job and an honor and privilege in being the one to ‘show’ your countries good side to visitors, nice!
Showing the ‘outsiders’ what’s on the inside of a culture or magic of the country and lands is a venerable job. It can be a very rewarding way to meet people who you may not otherwise ever get to know. This ‘mix’ of people, ideas and culture is refreshing. It can also build reciprocal relationships. This creation of new friends in foreign countries who talk, laugh, eat together have good times and share their homes with each other on hosted invitations to visit and spend more time sharing life stories and getting familiar.
This king of friendly collaboration just doesn’t happen easily in politics, with one government angling evil intents of other governments, no one really relaxes enough to think about being friends, partly because it is mainly all about GDP and business.
When we remove politics, we see world citizens meeting and mixing and marveling at all the great things each country has to offer to other, we realize that the travel business brings people, countries and nations closer together.
World travel and going to and knowing other places, brings us to understanding (not fear) and paves the way for future world peace.
“A good place to be,” is a very friendly reference…
These days places are a big thing on the Internet.
Everyone wants to know your current location! This is so they can ‘serve’ you with information about stuff you asked for, or stuff ‘they’ think will be helpful to you in the ‘mobile moment’ at your current location (or place in life). In many cases, this is really more like they want to keep you under surveillance and spy on you until a sales opportunity ‘pops-up’ on your screen to assist in helping lighten the load of cash you might have on location?
It can be very invasive to think you are ‘on the radar’ tracking of so many different corporate concerns who all want to help you? Some people love it.
This is becoming more and more a big part of the connected intelligence and how the Internet wants to connect with Mobile shoppers who consume.
You don’t even have to consume stuff which is exclusive only to this world anymore…
The Virtual world is a whole new geography which has opened up over the last couple of decades.
It is moving very quickly to map, mirror and mask our real world, as well as create alternate worlds.
With Second Life we now have evidence that virtual worlds can survive, build economy, create hype, crash and burn and still carry on.
It has been over 10 years since the Second Life virtual world was launched by Linden Labs in 2013. They started a movement in lifestyle / gaming inside virtual environments that is evident in other online membership services such as Club Penguin (Sold to Disney for $800 million) or the massive online gaming worlds, such as Minecraft (Sold to Microsoft for $2.5 Billion) which has had no problem in crossing all world geography, somewhat bring everyone to the same place on the same page.
We certainly have an interesting array of people, places and things to do in our life!
To be in the moment, to be present, to be one with life and the world today…
That’s including, the real world, virtual world and the world as YOU see it.
As Master Card would say… Priceless!
Enjoy your day, where ever you may be and share good times with others.
Here’s hoping your life is good and finds you healthy, wealthy and happy in all the right Places 🙂
Life is a carnival!
