Our world is a wonderful place.
The only thing better is to live in peace and harmony with others.
This must be an agreed goal for all of us who care for the world, our families, friends and all others on this planet.
We have entered a period of unprecedented freedoms. Knowledge is flowing between countries and taking away the fear that ‘they’ are somehow different than us. We are learning some people are takers and others are givers. Everyday we see this in ourselves, within the actions of our families, friends and community at large. Society is now ready to mature, we have the information, we can also measure our progress at a rate that will demonstrate and prove how much we really care about reaching the goals of better living for all.
The most important thing now is to develop the will and way to make it happen!
Like a chain, we are only as strong as our weakest links. If there is intelligent life in this universe, I am sure they would have recognized that peace on earth (or whatever their planet might be called) would be the first order before going out and looking for new places to mess up… We all can have love. This is willpower magic that comes from the heart, it can move mountains. We all have hands, when we work together it can be amazing what can be accomplished. Everyone has the time to be part of making our world a place for better living.
How can you do something for someone local? What is an organization that could benefit from your knowledge or helping hands one working day each month? Many people who are now retiring are looking for opportunities to help others. Sometimes the chance to help others clicks and in enjoyable. Other times you might get ignored and be delegated the menial tasks that no one else wanted to do. Volunteering can be a mixed bag so everyone needs to find the right fit, this doesn’t always happen on your first try. The need is there and it is a great way to meet other people who care, so get out there and find a match for your skills and talents at a time that works for you.
Have fun and remember this is not about you (hard for most of us) this is about getting creative and not just giving your money but giving your time!
Almost every city and town now has a website where you can usually find more info about volunteering. In Vancouver, try this link: http://vancouver.ca/people-programs/volunteering.aspx
